Custom soccer uniforms in bulk: what US clubs should order
Bulk custom soccer uniforms should ship as jersey, shorts and sock sets in 150 to 190 GSM breathable double-knit polyester, sublimated in your colors, with a goalkeeper kit in a clearly contrasting color and numbers that meet NFHS size rules. Expect a 10 to 24 set minimum per design, 3 to 5 weeks of production, and roughly $28 to $60 per set factory-direct.
Soccer is the biggest team-order sport in the US by roster count, and a club buying for a full age group is often placing 60 to 200 sets at once. The mistake most buyers make is treating it like a t-shirt order and judging on sticker price alone. What decides whether a kit lasts three seasons is the fabric weight, the sublimation quality, and whether the numbers pass your league's rulebook. This guide covers the construction, decoration, US rules, cost, and timeline for ordering custom soccer uniforms straight from the factory. For the wider decision framework across every sport, start with our custom team uniform buyer's guide.
What should you look for in bulk custom soccer uniforms?
Soccer kit runs lighter than football or baseball because players cover 7 to 10 miles a game and need airflow, not padding support. But lighter is not the same as cheap. Demand these specs in writing before you approve a sample.
| Component | What to demand | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Jersey fabric | 150 to 190 GSM double-knit or pique polyester, moisture-wicking | Light enough to breathe over 90 minutes, heavy enough to hold color and shape |
| Shorts | 180 to 220 GSM polyester with an inner brief or elastic waist and drawcord | Takes more washing stress than the jersey and must not go see-through |
| Seams | Flatlock or double-needle at shoulders and side seams | Reduces chafing on a running sport and survives weekly laundering |
| Socks | Knit poly-cotton or nylon with a cushioned foot and ribbed calf | Sold as part of the set so colors match; loose socks slip under shin guards |
| Abrasion and wash | Martindale above 25,000 rubs, colorfastness to washing grade 4 to 5 | Survives slide tackles on turf and a full season of hot-wash cycles without fading |
At our factory every soccer jersey is knit at 150 GSM or heavier and every side seam runs a flatlock or double-needle stitch. We test each fabric batch for abrasion and colorfastness before it enters the cutting room and keep those results on file per order. If you only need shirts in volume for a league or a tournament, spec them separately as bulk soccer jerseys so you are not paying for shorts and socks you already have.
What goes in a full soccer kit?
A "set" means different things at different factories, and that is where quotes get confusing. Here is what a complete outfield kit and a keeper kit include when you order a full package from us.
- Outfield set: jersey, shorts, and matching socks, with player name and number.
- Home and away: most US leagues require two contrasting jerseys; order both colorways in the same run to lock one price and one lead time.
- Goalkeeper kit: long or short-sleeve keeper jersey with light elbow padding and padded keeper shorts, in a color that contrasts with both teams and the referee.
- Captain's armband and spares: add 2 to 3 blank-number sets per size band for mid-season signings.
Order complete outfield and keeper kits together through soccer uniform packages, and spec the keeper separately from custom goalkeeper kits so the padding and contrasting color are built in rather than bolted on.
Sublimation or embroidery for soccer jerseys?
For bulk soccer, full sublimation is the better choice for almost every program because the design becomes part of the fabric, adds no weight, and re-orders match with no thread-color guessing. Embroidery suits a crest or a sponsor logo, not a full-color kit.
| Factor | Full sublimation | Embroidery |
|---|---|---|
| Look | Unlimited colors, gradients, sleeve and hoop patterns | Raised, stitched, premium on a crest or logo |
| Durability | Ink dyes the fiber, cannot crack or peel | Very durable but adds weight and stiffness over a large area |
| Added weight | None | Noticeable on anything larger than a badge |
| Best used for | Whole kit, numbers, names, all-over designs | Club crest, sponsor mark, staff polos |
| Cost per set | Included in the base | Add $3 to $9 per logo |
We run both on the same line, so you can sublimate the full sublimated soccer kits and add an embroidered club crest if you want the stitched badge look. For a full breakdown of how each method behaves on polyester, see sublimation vs embroidery vs DTF.
What do NFHS rules require for soccer uniform numbers?
This is where US high-school buyers get caught. A game jersey that fails the number rule is illegal on the field no matter how good it looks. The NFHS rulebook, used by most US high schools, sets requirements you must build into the artwork, not fix later.
- Back number: a 6-inch number is required on the back of the jersey.
- Front number: a different number at least 4 inches high is required on the front, and under the 2025-26 clarification (Rule 4-1-2) it may be placed on the jersey and/or the shorts.
- Contrast: the number color must clearly contrast with the jersey or shorts and be clearly visible.
- Goalkeeper: the keeper must wear colors that distinguish them from both teams and the officials, which is why the keeper kit is a separate contrasting color.
We size and place numbers to these minimums by default on any US school order and flag artwork that would fail the contrast test before production. Youth and college leagues run their own books, so send us your league sheet; we spec youth soccer uniforms and high school soccer uniforms to whichever rulebook applies. All designs are custom and original, with no licensed league or team logos.
What do custom soccer uniforms cost in bulk?
Factory-direct pricing at team volume, before US import duty. Mixed sizes across a roster count as one order, so a youth-to-adult size run does not raise the per-set price.
| Package | Per set at team volume |
|---|---|
| Jersey only, fully sublimated | $16 to $28 |
| Jersey plus shorts, fully sublimated | $24 to $42 |
| Full kit: jersey, shorts and socks | $28 to $60 |
| Goalkeeper kit (padded jersey and shorts) | $34 to $68 |
| Embroidered club crest, add | $3 to $9 |
Our minimum is 10 to 24 sets per design depending on the package, well below the 50-set floors many overseas factories quote, so a single club team can order without padding the quantity. Order full kits through club soccer uniforms. Two costs buyers forget: US import duty on the landed order, covered in US apparel tariffs and custom uniform costs, and how minimums and unit price move together, covered in MOQ, pricing and lead times explained.
How should you plan sizes and lead time for a full club?
The two things that wreck a club order are guessed sizes and a late start. Fix both with a size run and a backward-planned calendar.
- Collect real sizes. Send every player a size chart and one sample to try on. Youth sizing varies wildly by brand, so do not estimate across an age group.
- Order buffer sets. Add 2 to 3 blank-number sets per size band for mid-season signings. A small buffer now is cheaper than a rush re-order later.
- Back-plan the calendar. Work back from your first match using the timeline below.
- 8 to 10 weeks out: lock roster sizes, home and away colors, and 2 to 3 design directions.
- 6 to 8 weeks out: approve the mockup and order one sample set to verify fit and color.
- 3 to 5 weeks out: approve the sample, submit final names and numbers, production runs.
- 1 to 2 weeks out: DDP delivery by air, 3 to 7 days, with buffer sets for late add-ons.
US fall soccer and spring club seasons are the two annual rushes for every sports factory. Clubs that lock their order 8 to 10 weeks before the first match get their kits without a rush fee.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum order for custom soccer uniforms?
Our minimum is 10 to 24 sets per design depending on the package, with mixed youth-to-adult sizes counting as one order. Many overseas factories require 50 or more sets, so a single club team can order a full kit with us without padding the quantity.
How much do custom soccer uniforms cost in bulk?
Fully sublimated jersey and short sets run $24 to $42 per set at team volume, full jersey, shorts and sock kits $28 to $60, and jerseys only $16 to $28. Player names, numbers and your design are included with sublimation. US import duty is added on the landed order.
What GSM should a soccer jersey be?
150 to 190 GSM double-knit or pique polyester is the right range for match jerseys: light enough to breathe over 90 minutes, heavy enough to hold color and shape. Shorts run heavier at 180 to 220 GSM because they take more washing stress.
Do your soccer uniforms meet NFHS number rules?
Yes. We default US school orders to a 6-inch back number and a contrasting front number at least 4 inches high, placed on the jersey or shorts per the 2025-26 clarification, and we flag any artwork that would fail the contrast rule before production. Send your league book if it differs.
How long does a custom soccer uniform order take?
Sample in 7 to 10 days, bulk production in 3 to 5 weeks, DDP shipping in 3 to 7 days. Plan 8 to 10 weeks from first contact to delivery, and start earlier for a fall or spring season rush.
