Custom basketball uniforms in bulk: fabric, MOQ, decoration, and turnaround

Ordering custom basketball uniforms in bulk comes down to four decisions: the fabric (sublimation-ready poly interlock or pro-mesh, roughly 130 to 170 gsm), single or reversible construction, how names and numbers are applied, and the lead time, which runs about 4 to 6 weeks by air or 6 to 10 weeks by sea for a full-custom overseas order. Lock those and the roster order is straightforward.

Most basketball uniform pages are online builders that hide the production reality behind a design tool. This guide is written from the factory floor so you can spec a real team order, compare quotes on the same terms, and reorder next season without surprises. We build these to order, and every number below is a production reality. We work only from your original team design; we do not reproduce licensed league or team logos.

What is the minimum order for custom basketball uniforms?

Fully sublimated custom uniforms can run at low minimums because the design is printed during fabric finishing, so setup is lighter than cut-and-sew from scratch. A practical floor for a true team order is 10 to 15 sets, with real price breaks as the roster and league size grow.

Order sizeRelative unit costBest for
10 to 15 setsHighestA single roster
16 to 40 setsStandardVarsity plus JV, small clubs
41 to 120 setsLowerPrograms, multi-team clubs
120 and upLowestLeagues, resellers, distributors

For a whole league placing many rosters at once, our bulk basketball jerseys and basketball team uniforms tiers are built for volume. The mechanics of how order size drives price are in our guide to MOQ, pricing, and lead times.

What fabric should a basketball jersey use?

Basketball is a hot, high-movement game, so fabric is chosen for breathability and how well it holds sublimation color. Weight is given in gsm; ask for the number.

FabricTypical weightFeel and use
Pro-mesh (poly)Around 130 to 150 gsmVery breathable, classic mesh look. Warm gyms and summer leagues.
Poly interlockAround 150 to 170 gsmSmooth, holds sublimation crisply, a clean pro look. The all-round default.
Heavier interlockAround 180 to 200 gsmMore structured and durable for hard-use practice and rec programs.

Moisture-wicking poly is standard because cotton holds sweat and sags. For a ventilated build see our breathable basketball uniforms; for full-color designs, our sublimated basketball uniforms.

Single or reversible: which construction?

Reversible jerseys give a team two colorways in one garment, so a squad covers home and away, or splits into shirts and skins at practice, without buying two sets. They are slightly heavier and a little warmer. Single jerseys are lighter and let you sublimate edge to edge. Most programs choose reversible for practice and rec, single sublimated for match kits.

We cover the trade-off in detail in our comparison of reversible vs sublimated basketball jerseys. Browse reversible basketball jerseys to see the two-in-one build.

How are names and numbers applied?

MethodLook and durabilityBest for
SublimationDyed into the fabric, will not crack or peelFull-color designs, the pro standard on poly
Tackle twillSewn-on fabric numbers, raised and premiumSchool and varsity programs wanting a classic look
Heat transferPressed on, good with quality filmFast name and number changes, short runs

Sublimation is the durable default on poly because it cannot peel. For a stitched look see jerseys with names and numbers. Which method survives washing is broken down in sublimation vs embroidery vs DTF.

How long does a bulk basketball order take?

  1. Artwork and mockup: 1 to 3 days to approve the design.
  2. Pre-production sample: 10 to 15 days for a real jersey to approve fit and color.
  3. Bulk production: 3 to 5 weeks by roster and league size.
  4. Freight: about 25 to 35 days by sea or 5 to 8 days by air.

Total realistic time is 6 to 10 weeks by sea and 4 to 6 weeks by air. That is why teams order in late summer for a winter season. If your deadline is tight, our tournament basketball uniforms path is set up for faster runs. See our full basketball ordering timeline for the 2026-27 season.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum for a custom basketball uniform order?

For a true team order, 10 to 15 sets is the practical floor. Single-piece online builders exist, but per-piece cost is high and consistency across a roster suffers.

Are sublimated jerseys better than screen printed?

For poly basketball fabric, yes. Sublimation dyes color into the fabric so it will not crack or peel, unlike a heavy print that sits on top and can flake with wear.

Can you make matching shorts and warm-ups?

Yes. We build full basketball uniform packages with jersey, shorts, and warm-ups in one coordinated order.

Do you print licensed team logos?

No. We produce your own original team designs, names, and numbers. We do not reproduce licensed league or team logos.

Ready to kit your team?

Send your design, roster size, and season date. We will recommend a fabric and construction, quote it in tiers, and give you an honest timeline. Start a custom basketball uniform quote or browse custom basketball uniforms.
